About the Show:
These paintings do not reflect ‘places’ to me as much as they reflect moments when the ordinary becomes luminous. They share a common language around light, stillness and presence. They are reflections of how I feel when I am on my way home witnessing these beautiful sights and feeling so humbled and joyful. They are my invitation to you, to slow down, breathe deeply, and remember the beauty that has been there all along.
About the Artist:
Tobie Hall is an oil painter whose work celebrates the quiet beauty of the natural world. Drawn to changing skies, open fields, gardens and places where the light lingers, she creates paintings that allow the viewer to reconnect with the peace found in everyday landscapes and fading flowers.
Working primarily in oils, Hall is less interested in documenting a place than in capturing the feeling of being there- the warmth of the afternoon sunlight, the stillness before dusk, or the simple comfort of a familiar view. Her paintings are an invitation to slow down and notice the extraordinary beauty hidden within ordinary moments. For Hall, painting is both an artistic practice and a way of seeing the world with gratitude. Through rich color and luminous light, she hopes to preserve those fleeting moments. She hopes each piece offers a sense of calm, wonder, and a home to those who live with it.
